The Infinix Smart 8 HD is scheduled to be officially launched in India on December 8. Just before its formal introduction, the company, owned by China’s Transsion Holdings, has confirmed through a press release that the smartphone will feature a Magic Ring. This Magic Ring resembles a pill-shaped black bar emerging from the selfie camera cutout, displaying animations for face unlock and providing notifications. The feature bears a resemblance to Apple’s Dynamic Island and Realme’s Mini Capsule. The Infinix Smart 8 HD will be joining the Smart 8, which made its debut earlier this month.
In a press release on Tuesday, Infinix teased the Magic Ring functionality of the upcoming Smart 8 HD. It is portrayed as a centrally located elongated pill-shaped notch animation around the front camera cutout, capable of displaying animations and notifications. The Magic Ring can also be utilized to show real-time details like charge completion reminders, call management, and charging animations, according to Infinix.
The Magic Ring shares similarities with the Dynamic Island feature found in the iPhone 15 series and iPhone 14 Pro models. Realme also introduced a comparable Mini Capsule feature in its Realme C55, which showcases the phone’s charge status, data usage, and step count. Infinix claims that the Smart 8 HD will be the first smartphone in the sub-Rs. 6,000 segment to incorporate the Magic Ring feature.
